Spot clean the rug using a non-bleach detergent and water…soda water is even better than plain water. Cleaning immediately after the spill is important. Periodic professional cleaning is recommended after extended use.
Maintenance of cotton rugs include trimming loose thread, when applicable. All braided rugs will “sprout” loose threads from time to time. It is important that you trim them with a sharp scissors and never pull the loose threads.
